STILL not well. Sigh. Here is the next chapter of my Lockdown One Sort-Of-Memoir. Remember when we didn’t wear masks? That was ill-advised, wasn’t it?! You can catch up on the other chapters below, if you are new here. And know that I will continue my Lockdown TWO walks and chatter as soon as I possibly can. I miss the flowers so much!
I loved this so much Pip..it just makes me want to curl up on the couch with you for a crafternoon session. I also get nervous walking through the tunnel here..not only because of skinny jeaned men but it makes me think of dementors from Harry Potter..I have 3 giant sons now so we have taught them to cross the road or take another path if they are walking behind a lone woman, particularly at night...my partner Steve once accidentally frightened a girl because of his size as he came around a corner behind her and now he is always mindful of giving plenty of space. Sending you so much love and healing and gratitude for your beautiful writing, Anna 💗 PS I still remember my sisters joy when getting her legs waxed that they waxed her toes! That was 30 years ago!!
So happy that you got to find out that skinny jean guy was lovely. I also love your daily interactions with strangers and your beautiful observations. Your sort of memoir has inspired me to be more present on my walks (and activate Siri so I can take voice notes as well!)
Side note: I don’t think you should feel silly at all for being scared. I also do (and I also feel silly when I do) but I remind myself that it is (unfortunately) a sensible response in the world we live in and the important thing is that we are not ruled by it. Which is what you did! You got out there despite the fear and you benefited from it greatly because now you know skinny jean guy is not scary at all :)
Peach + purple swirls
Hope you get better soon Pip!
Hooray for skinny jean guy turning out to be a peach jumper wearing, cute dog walker & not scaring you!
