Ah Pip. Your words always seem to bolster me so much. Am in Bali visiting my brother and am in the middle of a crash. I overdid things and it is my own fault. Scaling back to the tiniest things and counting those things as a win is so bolstering as you say. Hope you’re having as good a day as possible. Sending love 💕

So much wisdom in these words Pip. The counters sound like a great way to keep your spirits up.

We CAN only do what we can do. Yep. And there’s freedom in that. ❤️ AH

Cheers to you Pip! This is the second time I have tried to post a comment so if you get two please don’t think I am a weird stalker! You have been a great inspiration to me over the years - to give up alcohol for a year (I still don’t drink alcohol any more), to make some adorable tea cosies which I still use every day, and to generally be a happy crafter and not feel alone. I think counting the small achievements is a brilliant strategy because everything adds up and today is the day that we have. Love and strength to you xxx

Since getting hit with another layer of fatigue with long covid, I've found a "done list" really helpful. It makes me feel like I am actually doing things, which is helpful on the days where I'm a bit down on what I have the ability to do.

These tips make perfect sense. We always try to push ourselves when maybe that’s not the best thing for us. I’m not good at doing this, so thank you for the reminder. Take care x

Dear Pip, Your attitude and state of mind seems so practical, for you, and for everyone One of the secrets of happiness is having practical and modest aims, which you almost always achieve. Setting very high ambitions causes stress in trying to get there, followed by continuing disappointment which the targets that were not achieved. With lots of love.

I don’t know why but this made me a bit teary. I think it’s the knowing how to care yourself that is so important. This week I was having some trouble with my hip/groin/knee (getting older is a trip!) & I told myself “rest is what you need” so that’s what I’m doing when I can.

I love the sound of your habit counter. I have a chart on my wall that I colour a circle for each night I do my yoga & I enjoy that.

Take care darling Pip xx

Go see a physio - the exercises to strengthen the muscles and joints around the hip can really ease the discomfort and set you up for the future. Also worth having an MRI scan on hip, back and knee to see what’s what. Xx
